The Internal Verifier:

The role of the Internal Verifier is to monitor the work of all assessors involved with a particular qualification, ensuring accuracy and consistency of activities and decisions. The internal verifier:

  • Ensures that assessors follow the qualification assessment guidance provided by the awarding body.
  • Sample and observe activities, methods and records to ensure that assessment decisions are consistent and then provide assessors with constructive feedback on their decisions.
  • Keeps up to date records of internal verification and sampling activities and ensure that these are available for the awarding body to see.
  • Raises issues of good practice in assessment and organise regular meetings between all staff involved in the process.
  • Ensures that any corrective actions required by the awarding bodys external verifier are put into place.

 About the course:


Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.


This is an online self paced course, which can be completed in about 6 months or less. This is a NEW qualification which as been developed by Lifelong Learning UK and replaces the previous V award and former D34. You need the course If you maintain the quality of assessment from within your organisation or assessment centre.

Course Content:
Unit 1 - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment. This unit enables you to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance which underpin the internal quality assurance of assessment.

Unit 2 - Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment. The aim of this unit is to assess your performance in assuring the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
Entry Requirements/Qualifications:
There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking this qualification. However, it is the responsibility of the centre to ensure that candidates have the skills, potential and opportunity to gain the qualifications successfully. WeThere are no age limits attached to candidates undertaking the qualifications unless this is a legal requirement of the process or the environment in which they operate. However, it is not expected that candidates for these qualifications would be younger than 18.

You will need to be in a quality assurance role to take this training, supporting at least two assessors. We can provide candidates for learners who do not have access to learners.

Candidates cannot be entered for a qualification of the same type, content and level as that of a qualification they already hold.

What does the process involve?
Once your registration is complete we immediately send you a link to our online training video library with worksheets and lesson notes. Your assessor will then conduct an induction with you on the phone or in person (where possible).

You will get weekly follow up email from your tutor who is also available to deal with all your questions. You will also get invitation to our monthly webinars that deals with various subjects, our students always look forward to these interactive sessions.

Our assessors will work with you on an individual basis to get you through your training quickly and effectively. You will receive step by step guidance at your own pace throughout your training. Observations are conducted in person or remotely using video recording of the actual session.


Assessment:
There are two units to this Award. All learning outcomes in this unit must be assessed using methods appropriate to your performance. These must include:
  • Observation of performance
  • Examining products of work
  • Questioning  
Direct evidence can be supplemented by discussion, reflective accounts or witness testimony. Simulations are not allowed.
